Lee S. Goldsmith, M.D., J.D. has been investigating the unnecessary performance of tethered cord surgery at The Chiari Institute and is accepting referrals of patients who have undergone such surgery.

Tethered cord surgery is not indicated just because a patient has been given the diagnosis of Chiari 1. Tethered cord surgery is not indicated unless certain diagnostic criteria have been met.

Our current clients who have undergone this unnecessary surgery range in age from 4 years to 50 years of age. They have developed severe complications requiring additional surgery and prolonged rehabilitation.
